Ryanair prices
Just stumbled open something interesting. Logged onto ryanair in order to gloat about how much my flights had gone up since i booked them. initially asked for a quote for 1 person and the flights were quoted as £38.99 out and £59.99 back ( ha ha only paid £21 return). but because I am too stupid and lazy to add it all up plus taxes and times by 5, I went back and did the whole quote for 5 people. The prices came back £59.99 and £109.99 respectively - a whooping £70 more( even double checked to make sure the single person quote hadn't gone up in the mean time and it hadn't. So it would have been cheaper to book everyone on singly (even if the last one or two were quoted at the higher price).

depends though, i have managed to get a 35kg bag and a tent on and not be charged. but more the often the facists are strict coz their lifefs are crap and they want to ruin everyone elses, which means oyu have to take your stereo, laptop, playstation, roller blades and 5 big coats onto the plane. comedy

The stupid thing is that the hand luggage limit is quite large so when your hold bag is over 15kg they're quite happy for you to take a load of stuff out of it and then carry it on the plane. We got caught like that on the way back from WOC - doesn't seem logical to me, since it's all going on the same plane, surely it doesn't matter if the weight's in the hold or in the cabin?

Its to make people take all of their luggage into the plane with them. So the loading staff don't have as much to do/doesn't take as long. So they save money as they dont need to employ as many staff. Keeping their fares low. The Ryanair boss said that in a few years time his flights may not allow any other baggage except hand luggage to keep flight costs down.

I heard a rumour that next year you're not going to be allowed any hold bags and you have to pay for every single kilo you take... not sure if it'll happen though.
Whether or not you get stung for excess baggage depends on what airport you fly from and what the queues are like. Vasteras is normally ok because its their staff that check you in, not ryan air's so they don't care. I moved back from sweden with 2 32kg backs and didn't have to pay anything

a classic trick i used to get back from sweden: I had a goo 50kgs of stuff, non way i was getting it on. So when i went to check in I had a big travel back with just clothes, well in the limit, and then a very empty hiking bag, so I was still well within limit. normal bag goes through and the hiking bag hade to go into the special baggage bit, which aint too close to check in, so off i trot, then ram that bag full of stuff, an unbelievevable amount, then give that to outsized baggage, tghey obviously think its my only bag and don't really care. so i got to put in 2 full bags onto the plane. a absolutely gennius trick i tell you!
