Squad Inaugural Weekend
That's interesting - Yesterday there was an item on the BOF newspage about some Squad Inaugural Weekend where everyone was going off for a jolly good tiime some adventure racing and a party, a lot of back slapping and girding their loins for the coming year - sounded fun. Now its gone and were back to the JK DVD (incidentally, Neville tells me it is billed as the Field and Trek JK on the credits - what the hell is that all about? When did you last buy any O kit from Field and Trek?) Perhaps the party is cancelled!

Don't know anything about the BOF Pages & items that appear / disappear - we've come to expect that:)
But the Squad Inaugural is generally a good occassion & a lot of work is done and a good time is had by one & all.
As for the DVD & the JK being called the Fiels & Trek JK then that is a total nonsense - (think I'm right here & it wasn't the Field & Trek Jk) and if BOF think they can retrospectivly sell the title rights to our major competitions I hope they got a good price for it in hard cash terms.

Re: Squad Inaugural Weekend
Field and Trek were sponsors of the event according to the JK2004 website, and I think from seeing the footage on Sky that they had their name on the number bibs - I can't see any pictures of them on the site (only Lowe Alpine and Cotswold!)Mrs H. wrote:Neville tells me it is billed as the Field and Trek JK on the credits - what the hell is that all about?
I vaguely remember a Focus article talking about F&T sponsoring the JK.

Well something wrong somewhere..... either Field & Trek were title sponsors of JK 2004 or they weren't.
If they were title sponsors then they are entitled to call it the Field & Trek JK and BOF are doing them a dissservice by refering to the JK 2004 (see BOF website).
Of course then if F&T were not title sponsors then they are taking the p**s out of orienteering by calling it the F&T JK 2004:)
Whatever is the correct version it doesn't look very proffessional at all.

I'm inclined to agree, but it may just have been over zealous Sky presenters who assumed that this was the case. (Can't check as mother-in-law has taken her video back)
