When I stop doing real work
I do plan to "release" it at some point but the version WCH are running is a little rough round the edges in my opinion. The update talked about is mainly to eliminate the reliance on the "standard" SI software for it's actual download, which has a nasty side effect of me having to do the splits printing. Those till roll printers are a pain in the
In answer to how you check people are still out, you are in much the same boat as with any other system really. Despite most people "self registering" at the finish you still need the entry slips as backup info. Hence you can cross check the number of finishers on each course with the number of entries. Whether you enter all the slips or not you're still relying on fallible info. I do remember when I helped WCH the first time they used the software there was several non-IT issues: People running a different course to that listed on their entry form, entry forms into the wrong pile so the total count was wrong, people writing their SI numbers down incorrectly and one guy who went home without downloading. I think there's no substitute for an empty car park to ensure everyone's back!
