for a longer one thats more terrainy - a nice wee loop of about 2.5km in the hermitage, up and doon and around, bound to be pretty slippy at the moment too, very nice,
as for 1km, sure u could get something like that out there too

I would like to see a lot more of this... orienteering is about running fast... to win you need to run fast... you need to know you can run fast... other countries use 3 & 5 km time trials a lot in their training...
Important thing to remember is that you are not training to win the time trial or run the fastest time ever.... and that running fast on a track doesn't translate to speed in the forest... but as an indication of speed , if it's consistant, it's good....
Thoughts from a fat man:)

yeah, lets all head down to the track soon, maybe after exam week, it'd be decent preparation for fcc1&2 if you do it early on in the week. can let the haries and interlopers know and then we can get a decent crew out for it, pump each other up and let rip!
