I read a couple of weeks back that there is a proposal to set up an elite endurance training centre on the edge of the Lake District - aimed at distance runners, swimmers, triathletes. Does anyone in bof know any more about this, are we trying to get our finger in the pie. Would seem to be a great opportunity for the sports top athletes to be able to train in an environment with other top endurance sports people?
In fact anyone know any more about this?

I also read about this - the Guardian article can be found here http://sport.guardian.co.uk/news/story/ ... 27,00.html
sounds like a pretty good location and set-up for orienteering training but there is no mention of orienteering in the article
