Overcrowded fixtures
Has anyone looked at the fixture list for next season recently? Dad and I were just trying to slot in squad weekends and there seems to be absolutely no free weekends from March onwards, with all these weekends filled with two races of very high importance. It seems nuts!

Seems to me that this is getting more common... races every weekend. Agree it's nuts! How can serious athletes of all ages compete week in week out?
Means individuals need to put a lot of thought into the structure of thier season and prioritise races. Start your year plan now.... where you want / need to perform at your best etc etc.......

i think a run of 4 events like that isn't too bad (other than their locations...), obviously it depends on how you prioritise and taper and where your own goals lie, get your preparation right and you should be flying by beoc (either that or completely burnt out)

But the important point is that there's no place to put junior squad training at all after March. Which is vitally important to keep up squad spirit, participation and technique. It's nuts.

busa is the obvious one to miss. in a non wuoc year it's only about the party anyway, appreciate you are in shuoc Rach so busa is a bit more important. same for euoc. but unless i can get my new union to pay for it, i won't be going. in fact even then. it's too much travelling. travelling = less time for training. if you're aiming for the home world cups you don't want to be worried about tapering and travelling all of that month.
