local legend - a guy who lives in Sutton Park (though they keep trying to remove him but can never find him) who wears shoes and a hat made of bark, plus a long coat of reeds. Pun on BigFoot I'm sure. He's always sighted cooking sausages and it turns out he used to be a bottle-opener designer in Hemel Hempstead! Real name Larry Larch - I like Barkfoot.

Well thanks folks for your posts,
it's been interesting reading through them...
On behalf of COBOC I'd like to thank everybody who helped in the run up and on the day. As we've said before Coboc is an extremely small club and probably should not even have dreamed about putting on an event like this, but we did! and with the support of a dedicated team of volunteers I hope you all enjoyed it.
As to the organisation, well the buck stops here. Yes we did have several major and minor hiccups but we managed to get through them and provide a passably memorable event. Several things, with the benefit of hindsight we might have changed, but this time we did the best we could under the circumstances. So those of you who have carped and complained about aspects you found wanting, OK fair enough! To those of you who put up with the shortcomings, my thanks till the end of time.
What about next year? I think now would be a good time to get all your excuses sorted and ready. We need a club to be brave enough to volunteer to organise.
Don't just sit back and expect someone else to do it.
COBOC did it with just 6 committee members!
COME AND VOLUNTEER IF YOU THINK YOU'RE HARD ENOUGH!!

Apologies for dragging this one up again...
WAOC were hoping for a reasonable placing in the handicap trophy at the PP this year, but I still haven't seen a set of results/placings for the Joan George trophy beyond the MDOC winner.
For the purposes of mentioning the placings in various club newsletter articles etc. (instead of saying we think we made the top 5) I'd actually tried working out the eligibility of the teams fininshing in front of WAOC by looking at DOB's, but as they're not there in all cases it's a somewhat futile task.
Does anyone know which of the teams had been eligible for the JG? Perhaps if any of the organising team are listening in to this, they could provide that info as it was on the entry forms?
Many thanks,
Blanka
