Not sure what climbing there is around Brecon but there must be some. Anyone fancy climbing in the afternoons or the rest day now the MTBO is cancled? Might even be able to get out to Pembroke. Have car, rack and lead to VS.

Will be stuck in work
There's various reasonable climbs in the area but you're better off heading to Pembroke or Gower if you want more than a couple of climbs before having to get back in the car. Wet days go for Welsh International Climbing Centre (sounds grand, is OK) at Trelewis which is half way to Cardiff, or at Llangorse (also OK) near Abergavenny.

There's certainly a bouldering room at Trelewis. I can't remember at Llangorse as I haven't been there for a couple of years. I think Jene said there was one but I can't understand what she says... (perhaps I shouldn't start that one again?)

I must agree that Llangorse is great fun, when I went I thoroughly enjoyed myself but we didn't get much climbing done, we chose to do the ropes bit instead of the big walls. The caving bit was good, but I didn't get all the way through, I found it way too cloustrophobic, which is strange, cos I was fine when I went caving/potholing once!! Anyway its certainly worth a visit as its close, but if you're a serious climber then you may be disappointed.

I think you'd have to be some kind of superstar to be disappointed - there's plenty there I can't get anywhere near getting up. The far wall from the entrance in particular is one of those bits of wall you get in any climbing centre that is more acurately described by the word "celiing" rather than "wall".

I'm not a bad man, just grumpy that's all. Respect for 10km time as well BTW.
Can't remember a ladder when I was there last (my memory's not the same as it used to be). I might even be good enough to get up the wall myself now although it's not easy taking 15stone on your arms!
