Has anyone found the relevant maps for the Köping races yet? JD said there was a link on alternativet but I can't find it. Ed, Rach, anyone?
Also, it seems sprint test will use all new symbols after all, is there a handy guide to these somewhere?

Äldre kartor à 20 kr över avlyst område kan köpas av arrangören enligt följande: Broskogen, skala 1:15 000, tryckt 1989, Bollströ och Hörnberga från kort-SM, skala 1:10 000, tryckt 2002.
or just wait until you get there and look at the copy that you hope someone else has bought

ok SM kort 2002 that's all i needed to know. it's on runoway on alternativet, it's worth a look because they have split time and route analysis on there. it looks like straight is great which i suppose i knew anyway. have an o geek, you'll feel better for it.
bit late to buy the maps now. i have ava norra though. it looks just like my back garden.

The start lists are rumoured to be as follows. All competitors are put into one of three seeded blocks, A, B, or C and one day A goes first, then B goes first another day and C goes first another day. The order within the blocks of the athletes is changed each day. Does anyone else think this method is crap? Why seed athletes before the races? Why not just draw athletes at random into each of the start blocks? Can anyone think of any reason for seeding the start blocks, other than to provide a confidence boost to people that the selectors want in the team, and also a competent tow to these individuals in case they muck up?
There are enough rumours circulating that the selectors have their ideal team in mind, without them shooting themselves in the foot with this sort of manipulation. What do the athletes want? A fair race, with the people than run best being awarded places in the team!

Totally disagree anon. This was the same method as last year and received no complaints. Guess it was the same method before that. So long as everyone gets an early, middle and late start it shouldn't matter. Slightly seeding the blocks makes sense as people of a "similar" standard starting close together should mean less catching up.

so anyway.. back to the test races.. the johanisdal map on kolsova-kolva web page is rumoured by dan to be the sprint test area. but he isn't really that interested in sprint so i don't know if he's really done his homework.
the startlists debate. i've seen the start lists now it is the system that guest described above. i don't think anyone will be towed into the team. the start intervals are 2 mins for the sprint and 3 for the middle and long and only the top 2 in each race are guaranteed a place. unless there is someone in the top 2 who the selectors don't like very much.
