Making the 1010 train means I have to drive to Leeds or Wakefield to get the first train to Derby to change, so I might as well spend another hour in bed and drive.
You could pull the communication cord as your inter-city train speeds through Belper! But I agree that organisers should at least consider and highlight the public transport possibilities.
We drove to Stansted airport for WMOC rather than go by train, which would have saved both fuel and parking costs, because of the concern about strikes. In the event I am glad we did because returning on the Monday the train service had collapsed in the heat. It needs a more reliable public transport system, so not just a problem for orienteering.
