Details of next year's WMOC in Puglia were released recently in the shape of Bulletin 1 and promotion has now started with information available at many major summer events.
The organisers want to know of anyone who could help distribute flyers car by car at Scottish 6 days or set up a small desk at the event centre.
They can organise a shipment from Italy comprising a small package containing flyers and a small banner.
A free entry to WMOC 2022 is on offer in return for such help. Anyone interested should pm me.

Re: WMOC 2022
I guess Bulletin 1 is the most recent and therefore likely to be correct, but there is conflicting information on the website (and Bulletin 0) about where each of the Sprint races will be held.
Website Programme page says: Model - Monte Sant'Angelo / Qual - Peschici / Final - Vieste
Bulletin 0 says: Qual - Vieste / Final - Peschici
Bulletin 1 says: Model - Vieste / Qual - Peschici / Final - Vieste
I guess DJM will know for sure...?

Re: WMOC 2022
The IOC has just recommended that all international sports bodies ban Russia and Belarus from all sporting events, in light of the invasion of Ukraine.
Will the IOF now ban Russian orienteers from competing at WMOC in Italy in July?

Re: WMOC 2022
The IOF has today published a press release which states that the Russian Orienteering Federation is suspended from IOF membership.
The following extract from the press release answers the question about Russian athletes and WMOC 2022

Russian orienteering athletes, in all IOF disciplines, will not be allowed to participate in IOF events. Athletes will also not be allowed to participate as neutral athletes.

What about Belorussia? The IOC is encouraging sports governing bodies to treat it the same as Russia, given its involvement in the invasion of Ukraine.

This is also covered by the IOF Press release where they state
Furthermore, the IOF Council will discuss the conditions for a potential suspension of the member federation in Belarus.
I believe this discussion is happening within days.

Re: WMOC 2022
There is an IOF Council meeting scheduled for Friday, so I imagine it will be discussed then.

Belarus now joins Russia in being suspended from the IOF.
This will have effects on many organisers of IOF events, so an FAQ page has today been published which should answer many of the issues.

Re: WMOC 2022
It seems a bit extreme to include all World Orienteering Day (week) events under this heading. How are we supposed to know if a random entrant to a local event is actually Russian / Belarusian, and so "not allowed" to take part?

Getting rather off the WMOC topic!
The IOF are simply saying that there will be no WOD events in Russia or Belarus.
No need for an organiser in this country to worry about the nationality of entrants to their local event.

Re: WMOC 2022
Has anyone sussed out the shuttle bus arrangements to get to Vieste? Bulletin 1 points you to Ferrovie del Gargano, talks about "On request transfer with own bus (minimum 40 people)" and "Bus/train transportation from main airports ( Bari, Roma, etc)
to event centre/terminal WMOC 2022 in Vieste", but isn't clear whether there is a shuttle bus service available to individuals.
If it turns out that the only option for small groups is public transport, we (4 from DEE) would be interested in sharing an 8-seat minibus from Bari airport on Friday 8th (11:00 arrival), and back on Sunday 17th to arrive BRI for 10:00.
