Re: Ankle brace recommendation
I used an Aircast Airsport brace for a while after I kept going over on one ankle, as recommended by a specialist. It seems to be aimed more for the recovery / ready to start exercising again phase.
It is quite bulky, and in training/events I found it rubbed in places so needed some preventative plasters to avoid blisters. But other than that it worked well.

I've been using Active Ankle T2 https://sportset.com/index.php?id_category=27&controller=category for years on both by (knackered) ankles. I find they work really well and can very easily be "fixed" when they wear out at the hinge (after a year or so).

I too used an Active Ankle T2. I found it rubbed, and as well as support, I found it gave an early warning that you might roll your ankle, with the result I was sometimes overreacting to minor things- no bad thing but sometimes heart stoppingly irritating. It was well worth the drawbacks until some strength and confidence returned and I used it sporadically depending on the terrain. Good luck!

Active Ankle T2 for me as well. I used it recovering from injury and then would stop when I felt strength had returned. I found it did rub if I was out for a very long time (incredible as it sounds but this has happened occasionally).

Re: Ankle brace recommendation
I've used a couple of compression types. I concluded that the Neo G one was best for me:
https://www.neo-g.co.uk/products/887v-a ... 8469&_ss=r
I liked the fact that you could adjust the tightness depending on how you felt and exactly what activity you were doing. FWIW, unlike the photos on the website, I always wore it over my sock. It felt more supportive that way.
They also sell a "stabilized" version which gives even more support. I haven't used that, but I have used the analogous stabilized knee supports from Neo G - they worked well for me so I'd expect them to be good products too.

Re: Ankle brace recommendation
Essential bit of kit for me, used for years and easier/stronger than taping, but don't like/need the rigid ones.
For orienteering, these Decathlon supports https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/strong-100-men-s-women-s-right-left-ankle-ligament-support-black/_/R-p-196275 prevent going over on ankle which is inevitable without. Not too restrictive, but reduce spring.
For training, these give a little bit less support, but are more flexible:

For Urban/Sprint these give some support and help with Plantar Fascitis:

I use the Aircast A60. I can wear it with all my running shoes no problem. It’s Andy Murray’s ankle support of choice - Aircast make a white version specially for him!
