Ideally situated property on the market,
https://www.rightmove.co.uk/commercial- ... emore.html
The expectation is that whoever buys it will demolish it and build a nice little summer home, unsurprisingly I was the first person who actually wanted to live in it (albeit only during the summer).
But what a place for a club hut or equipment store, if it' s where I think it is, it's on the road up to Whitwell Cottage, oh I'm tempted, but I suspect someone will offer more than 70 000.
Anyone got 70 grand (or more) to spare?

Aye great location for a Climbing or Orienteering club hut.
But before you consider parting with 70k++ I suggest you seek a quote for the clear up of site, which given its previous use and environmental legislation is likely to be a considerable sum.

I phoned the estate agent who was marketing it and she didn't know whether the existing building would be legal to live in it, pity, in my naivety I was hoping (I knew I was being optimistic) that was the sort of thing someone in that job might be expected to know?
The smallprint does mention an underground fibre-glass tank that would need to be replaced, reading between the lines it might be a septic tank for the toilet. It also has an outdoor shower, all in all, a great place to spend a weekend in summer, and a secure place (it's actually much bigger than I need) to keep gear; it looks pretty hard to break into.
So it would all hang on whether one is allowed to live in the existing building. I suspect, as you do, one would run into red tape. Pity, it look great as it is for someone who needs somewhere to keep gear but doesnt want to spend much time living there (I own an apartment in a super ski resort in France but thanks to brexit I (in effect) get evicted if I spend more than 90 days there);
A house alone in the woods is sure to get broken into, during the 12 weeks I spent in the area many years ago surveying the first version of the Inshriach Forest map, the bicycle rent business was broken into, This is Scotland, not Norway, and go-fast thieves could be back in the arse end of Somewhere in the Central Lowlands in an hour
