Hello
This is my first attempt at posting anything so go easy on me and sorry about using the B word.
I am the responsible person (?) in BL for getting O kit. Our last few orders have all been with Bryzos (used to be Siven but were threatened with a law suit and changed their name).
The club is happy with their kit but as we now face the complication of EORI numbers and customs charges I am wondering has anyone made an order this year? and if so what was the monetary size of the order and how much did the new regime add to the cost?
Thank you
Christine

Took me a while to work out what the 'B' word was! Border Liners aren't that bad are they?
To oblivion and beyond....

The supplier should have a REX number (registered exporter). They should state the country of origin and the REX number on their invoices
The HMRC system will charge duties if the supplier does not do these 2 things.
If the invoice is less the €6000, the HMRC system will accept the customers EORI number in place of REX and duties are not payable.
If the invoice is more than €6000 then only REX can help.
You will need to INSIST your supplier complies, if they don't, ask for a new invoice WITH the required details.
That's the interpretation my company have been advised of by specialists.
Hope this helps and good luck.
Some say you can only get an EORI if you are vat registered. HMRC will issue them if you are non vat registered but I don't know the process.
And to all who voted for Brexit, thanks a lot. You have helped add a whole load of paperwork and cost to business, in some cases we can't get materials at all.

Ok thank you for that. I'll ask if they are registered exporters and have a REX number I suspect that might be the issue as I think that costs and is renewable annually.
Much appreciated

Hi Christine,
I have recently had an o-kit order sent from Bryzos. They had registered with HMRC in goodly time pre-brexit however, as of a few weeks ago, HMRC had still not processed their registration. We took the decision to get them to send via DHL who handled all the paperwork from our end. I applied for an EORI and paid the customs/VAT to DHL and the order arrived about a week after Bryzos dispatched it. Fairly straightforward from my point of view but probably cost a little bit more overall. however the Pound was a little stronger at the time of transaction so gained a little back there.
Feel free to contact me if you want any further information.
