You can have a magazine with a wide appeal - you have a number of different sections in it, clearly signposted so people can easily recognise and find what is for them - after all, the whole family can read a Sunday newspaper - it is easy to find the relevant bit you want. Even nopesport has clearly defined sections read by and written by overlapping but slightly different groups of people.
RC#5 does not yet do this - it all looks & reads the same. It needs a "news" section that looks different to the "in depth article" section which looks different to the "event reports" section and so on, all within a broad "house style".
This might also make editing easier - you cannot edit anything by committee, but you can certainly have "sub-editors" each responsible for a section, and each commissioning articles or reports for that section - much less daunting and less time for anyone than having to put the whole thing together.

I'm the junior editor for the welsh newsletter
I think there should be a team of junior editiors, its great fun and they also know what to look for, and what juniors their own age want to read - much more so than older editors in some cases.

cept i think you'd have problems finding people to do it, becky your always ringin around tryin to find articles a few days before the deadline!!! and dragonlettes is hardly a 'major' newsletter......i dont think having junior editors is the prob!! i think you'd get far more articles if there was some kind of reward as Mrs H has said before.......or that sofie person along the lines of "if your article gets printed...." kinda thing n a pair of socks / sports bottle.....i'd write then :p
