From March 29th competing in an elite sporting event is exempt from the covid travel restrictions for International travel (in England).
Does that include an entry in elite in a WRE? Does WMOC count as an 'elite' sporting event (bit of a joke if it is).
Nothing will surprise me as it seems Boris & co have included the 'Stanley Clause' to enable Boris' dad to travel to his holiday home in Greece.

Re: New Covid Travel Rules
You could try but good luck at the border.
For the purposes of this guidance the definition of an ‘elite athlete’ means a person who is:
an individual who derives a living from competing in a sport
a senior representative nominated by a relevant sporting body
a member of the senior training squad for a relevant sporting body, or
on an elite development pathway.
For these purposes, a “relevant sporting body” is the national governing body of a sport which may nominate athletes to represent either (a) Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo, or the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Beijing, or (b) England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in those sports which are not part of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games programme.
A “senior representative” means a person who is considered by a relevant sporting body to be a candidate to qualify to compete on behalf of (a) Great Britain and Northern Ireland in the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be held in Tokyo or Beijing, or (b) England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games to be held in Birmingham in those sports which are not part of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games programme.

Easier just to book an appointment with an estate agent then you can go anywhere in the world, obviously.

Even if/when you can travel internationally, can you afford the quarantine time (cost) on return ?

Hungary is Europe’s Covid hotspot just now unfortunately. Not looking good for the event. Next year in Italy will be great though.

Re: New Covid Travel Rules
I suspect any international travel to events this summer is a huge risk. With cases rising quickly in many continental countries it will take at least 8-10 week to get things under control - and thats assuming there aren't further rises.

I do hope that this will not affect visitors to Scotland from south of the border at the beginning of August.

Re: New Covid Travel Rules
The definition above doesn't include orienteering, or other non-Olympic non-Commonwealth Games sports. So even if WOC or World Cup rounds go ahead that looks as though UK participation might not be possible, until international travel is further freed up. At least from England - are the rules similar for Scotland / Wales / NI ?
(Except perhaps for athletes already based overseas, depending on their local restrictions).
