Yeh that's the other thing administrators turn to after they've exhausted limited resources and funding.
Very true. Most administrators don't give two hoots about what job they're actually doing, and focus instead on finding obtuse ways to give themselves a cozy life whilst draining all joy from everybody else. It would be a far better world if everyone could simply do whatever they wanted, in whatever way they choose. I'm sure Mr and Mrs Smith would be comforted to know that, even though little Johnny's death from reckless stupidity and/or naive arrogance was entirely preventable, at least he died a free spirit unhindered by the burden of following a few simple steps designed to help him achieve what he wanted in the most effective way possible.
How on earth is disaffiliating an orienteering club because they have less than 30 members going to save someone's life or mitigate any other risks for that matter?!!!
Even if UBOC were somehow flouting safety rules, surely working with them would be better than disaffiliating them.
