Pre-entry only, even at local events, definitely makes things much easier for organisers and hasn't impacted on attendance of regular orienteers (eg almost 250 at the Chilham event on Sunday in 'deepest Kent' where we often get only 100 or so). We haven't seriously tried promoting events to newcomers yet, so maybe pre-entry might be sufficient a barrier to put these off coming?
I look forward to the day we can have mass starts and post event pub visits at local Kent Night Cup events. Their absence has been bad for club spirit, especially for the newer members.
Zoom calls for club meetings have been good and I hope we keep them. It makes meetings more accessible to those who are working, with family commitments etc and cuts down on the CO2 emissions. This must be more the case for regional and national committee meetings, and continued online meetings would help to get new people involved in regional and national type work.

Not sure I've got used to many of the restrictions, more like tolerated, but hopefully there will be some innovations that improve things.
Pre-entry would be a barrier for novice/newcomer events like SYOs Saturday Series but entry on the day via an easy to use mobile app might ease the usual queues.
More use of live results would be positive thing especially for early starters who leave before the end of the race.
Zoom for coaching works well - gets all the theory, race prep and map exercises out of the way and leaves more time for running in forests and socialising at club nights and training camps.
Having said all that we desperately need a return to crowding around the finish and results, food, shops, etc as soon as possible to make events more sociable and attractive for youngsters and newcomers.

racesignup.co.uk supports online EOD. Currently it needs the person entering to use their own phone to create an account and make payment (an EOD kiosk is in the pipeline). The system sends an email with the EOD details to the computing team for adding to the timing database.

What happens if there is no mobile signal at the event?

I think it's fair to say that newcomer events, the ones mentioned previously in this thread where EOD can be more important, would likely be in an area with mobile signal.
