Personally, I think the neatest solution would be to freeze the ranking list as it was on 16 March, and basically pretend that the time that elapses during the suspension period doesn't happen. So, when orienteering does resume, the period of time considered in calculating both the ranking score (someone's top six scores, used to work out your position in the list) and the current score (someone's average score, used to calculate new points) would be 12 months + however many days orienteering is suspended for, until the anniversary of the end of the suspension (when it would go back to 12 months). It gets (even) more complicated if we end up with two or more separate suspension periods...
Of course, it's not the top priority right now, and ultimately it'll depend on what can be implemented within the existing system, and on the cost of doing so.
Even if we don't yet allow other events to contribute ranking scores until there is a more even spread of events across the country,

Any events at Regional Level and above that have submitted their results this year (or from last Auumn) are already included in the Ranking List. The only question is, at what point do old results start to be deleted ?

Not sure if the Lakes May Weekend were regional level events (they certainly deserved to be), but if so it would be great if the organisers could submit the results when they've got the British Middles out of the way.

As I understood it the headline is 'all legal restrictions removed' what does that mean in practice for orienteering? I guess organisers and competitors might want to continue to take some precautions but will we be able to remove the current restrictions on start times, pre-entries, result display, socializing etc? Will the big landowners have any covid related excuses for limiting access?
