The brand new British TrailO League (BriTOL) kicks off in a month. This is a series of competitions across the UK aiming to boost interest and numbers in TrailO.
Entries are now open for the first five rounds:
1 & 2: 29/2/20, Thorncombe Wood, Dorchester, TempO & PreO
3: 21/3/20, British Championships, Liphook, PreO
4 & 5: 10-11/4/20, JK, North Yorkshire, TempO & PreO
The BOF TrailO Group is hoping that this will encourage all those folk who regularly do the TrailO at the JK & British Champs to compete more often, and even have the courage to plan a course themselves, rather than leaving it to a few regular officials.
Tom Dobra (BOK), the league administrator, is looking for more competitions, so if you feel like planning (even if inexperienced), please email him.

Re: British TrailO League BriTOL
I'd suggest holding them in parallel with planned O events, where some people will fit it around their run, plus there might be a few has-been knackered parents or others who might be tempted too- there are plenty of us!

Re: British TrailO League BriTOL
We try to hold TrailO events in parallel with FootO events where possible at major events like the JK etc. But sometimes the best part of an area for TrailO is already being used for the FootO, or the track/path network doesn't suit wheelchair access, or the PreO is too far way from the main parking/assembly.
And also given that PreO courses can take 90+ minutes to get round, not everyone wants to be out that long having already had a run.
So sometimes we have to hold stand alone TrailO events.
For example, the Thorncombe Wood event on Feb 29th (in a delightful area next to the cottage where Thomas Hardy was born and too small for long FootO courses) is a stand alone event. But it does incorporate both a TempO course and a PreO course so there is plenty to get your teeth into , and there is a WSX event in the N Forest on the Sunday for those who want to spend a weekend in Dorset.
Incidentally, IOF have had to rename the PreO Para class as the Physically Challenged class (P class for short) from 2020 because IOC/IPC have managed to trademark or protect both the terms 'Paralympic' and 'Para'!

Presumably they will be suing the parachute regiment in the near future.
