I noticed a topic on Attackpoint about this. The framework document has been made available for review here https://orienteeringusa.org/2019/12/dra ... ent-model/
Quite pertinent to British Orienteering's current talent and performance review and 'Every Junior Matters'. Whilst similar in many ways to the long term athlete development (LTAD) model that has been around for a number of years I think the interesting part is stage 4 where there are two tracks one performance and one participation - the participation is focused on retaining as many juniors as possible and helping them develop other skills that will benefit both them in life and orienteering as a sport. We are doing this a bit in the UK, for example JROS takes older juniors / young seniors to Lagganlia to develop their coaching and I'm sure many keen juniors have planned events for the club but I feel it is something that should be encouraged.
