Re: OMM
From the website:
"The 52nd OMM will be held somewhere on the Scottish Coastline, as is tradition the exact location will be released in September though clues may be found before then."
Well, "the nearest airport is Glasgow", so that could narrow it down to the west coast, west or north of Glasgow and south of Fort William-ish (ie before Inverness is closer)?
And "public transport options to within 2 miles of the Event HQ" so maybe close to a railway station on the line to Oban?

Re: OMM
There is less coast that is actually adjacent to a realistic OMM area. Needs some big hills but not too mountainous (too risky with atrocious weather?). Reasonably accessible to attract a decent entry (not an island or the far north west). My guess is west coast, north of Glasgow, south of Fort William, and “coastal” equates to the end of some sea loch. Arrochar?

Technically Oban actually has its own airport http://obanandtheislesairports.com/
I'm going with Muirsheil. Vaguely happy memories from the last visit.

Re: OMM
Mainland Scotland has a lot of coast, and it also has a lot of Islands.
Arran was the site of my first MM, but if they go back it'll be good if the shorter classes actually get out of the peak bogs to the S that we had to contend with - all that beautiful scenery in the N and we only got a glimse of it as we descended to the finish on D2.
There was an awesome last (proper) leg on the Elite - Dieter W and Leonhard S went one way, Joss N and Mike W took a totally different route and we watched from Glen Rosa as we tried to predict who was leading. Of course shortly after they finished the Bloors trotted in taking a route which was largely on the road. Little did I know that one day Lupo (Dieter) would be one of my [many] OMM partners.

I suspect he is alluding to the expression: "No-one loves a smart herse" ... as you were the one who made the correct "prediction" of Muirshiel for the OMM.
