Reluctant to challenge you Jon, for putting so much into an event, but there is no shame in admitting something was wrong with the organisation and clearly the information about the time needed to get to the start was wrong, for the majority of us mere mortals, who don’t know the area and don’t run to the start. I’m happy to take personal responsibility, which means for a night event I plan to get to the start with a few minutes to spare so am not waiting around getting cold. To do that you rely on an accurate distance/time to be published by the organisers. The published information was wrong. End of.
