Kris does it again

So Kris got a late call-up to the European Cross Countries today (replacing Andy Vernon)...

...and started off quite slowly at the back of the impressive field...

...but kept speeding up...and speeding up..

...and came 12th in the end, 2nd Brit and ahead of all sorts of really good people...

...which got him a team Silver Medal!

CHRIS NEEDS TO WORK ON A FANCY MOUSTACHE AND / OR HAT COMBO TO MAKE HIM EASIER TO PICK OUT. NEEDED A BIT OF NATIONALISTIC COMMENTATING TO PICK UP THE FACT THAT HE WAS PULLING THROUGH , AS TV Naturally focused on the leaders and he didn't show on the count back until late on. Still great effort from him , he judged it well , unlike the lad who was with the leaders early on then faded 40 places. Still that's running . Only 3 to count as well , when did that happen, sure it used to be more.

Note to all cross-country captains , if you expect mud underfoot, deduct at least 3s a kilometre from any orienteer's projected time. Oh, and also some of them know how to pace themselves too! Great run Kris.

The whole competition is on the "Red" button, 3hrs 30mins of coverage with all the races, Under 20 M&W, Under 23 M&W, Women Senior, Men Senior and Mixed Relay, skip to 2hrs 30ish for the Mens race if that all you want to see.

Good run from Kris again on a very fast course. However as far as Steve Cram is concerned he might as well be the invisible man. I wonder if he has a clue who he is, second counter again I think. Really great
performance.
