I was wondering if any of you had any ideas/ contacts for a little venture i want to do this summer.
I want to go to scanidivia for between 1 and 4 weeks to shadow a doctor or two and generally do medicine during the day and to also be able to train and oreinteer. Does anyone have any contacts or suggestions. Been to Lund to do something simular earlier this year so would love to go somewhere different.
Time off is from 15th august to 13th September.

I did my elective in Turku, Finland.
The O around there is fantastic during the summer - 3-4 times/wk within 40 minutes drive.
I did forensic pathology, though, so not exactly what you were after, and I don't have any contacts for general medicine, etc.
I do have some local O contacts still who may be able to help out on the O front.

I did my elective with an orthopaedic surgeon at the Karolinska hospital, who did a lot of sports injury work and also did research in the sports performance research lab they used to have (probably still do have) there.
He will have retired years ago, but it might be worth your while looking up recent papers from doctors there, working in the specialty that you're interested in, and getting in touch with them direct.
Some of your own med school professors, who travel a lot to meetings, almost certainly know of colleagues in Sweden who would make you welcome.
Have a great time!

If you want to contact Gordon then let me know as I am in his club. Both he and his girlfriend are doctors in Karlstad. He is Gping and she works in hospital. They would certainly be able to give you contacts in either location. OK Tyr is a nice club with good training opportunities. Also lots of good areas around. Let me know if you want more info. Email is dsrollins@ukonline.co.uk
