The British Sprint and Middle Championships Positive Thread
Just in case anybody chancing on a forum called Nopesport thinks that orienteers have nothing better to do than complain about aspects of the sport I would like to say how much I enjoyed the weekend. Many thanks to the organising clubs and volunteers who made it such a success. Your efforts are appreciated by most of us.

...just like with newspaper headlines, it seems that positivity doesn't exactly attract the crowds...

Excellent map, planning and organisation as well as a lovely field. Intense concentration needed throughout the forest section and then it was 360m of what I like to think of as something like a sprint for the last 3 legs. A plea for closer north lines though regardless of the rules!

Just be thankful you had N lines. I've been to two World TrailO Champs courses where we didn't have any North lines at all on one of the days.
Of course this means you have to align your compass with one of
- Edge of map if you fold perfectly AND the map isn't skewed
- Undergrowth screens
- (If using old maps) the vertical OOB screen in Black or Overprint
- The Control Descriptions
I used the latter once at British Midlands and once the same day in the TrailO event.
