Either she got distracted by the in and out route to C13 and was pushing to catch Austria and went straight from 14 to 16, or maybe she had the wrong map, the control she missed does not exist on the final leg.

Ow! Cat missed control 9 high, maybe distracted by Aus who had a different gaffle, then passed it low as she went back, had to go a long way back to reestablish position, probably low vis on a steep slope.

What a brilliant race.
A little shame that whatever happened to Tove at the end, so allowing Switzerland to get away was missed, but otherwise brilliant coverage.
Let's hope the Men's race is just as exciting. Hopefully with some British interest...

Re: WOC 2018 - LATVIA
Although possible, I don't think Megan had the wrong map - she went to control 33 (her 5), which is a control only on 1st and 2nd leg. She had lost time at the north of the castle coming into 13 - Dad was there and saw her get confused by the taping and the barriers. Likely she was just pushing hard after a long run round and missed the control - very sad for her.
Rewatching the tv and the gps, Tove was first up to the castle but missed the control, and the hesitation allowed Wyder to catch back up. She then seems to hesitate again at the next one slightly, and Wyder saw her chance to take the gold

Cat seems to be having a bit of confusion, like some of the others seems to be confused by the valleys and is climbing the wrong hill

He's managed to recover quickly. Hope he can refocus in time for the long leg.

Good recovery from Hoddy - choosing the best route out of 12 and safely back in the pack.

How does it work on the last leg with 15/16/17. Will all the 3rd legs have 15/16/finish?

Nice to see Latvia leading after the first leg.
Pete making good use of the park terrain at the end - brilliant run for 3rd, especially the recovery after his mistake.
Great TV and GPS coverage today.

Kris is going to have to work hard to keep up as Pete had the shorter gaffles in the first half.
