This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic, passionate and committed individual to further their experience and contribute to the continued growth of orienteering across England.
The post will be responsible for managing and implementing nationally standardised event feedback systems that enable orienteering clubs to gain insight into the participant experience and identify areas for improvement. Using this insight to recommend ways and produce supporting information for competitions organisers to improve the competitions experience with the aim of increasing retention of participants, especially from underrepresented groups including women, 14-25-year-olds, people with impairments and older adults (60+).
This is an exciting and challenging role with the responsibility to influence the orienteering experience local level by supporting clubs with the aim of improving the retention of frequent participants and increase the number of participants that orienteer frequently.
Candidates will need to be flexible and able to work weekday evenings, weekends and bank holidays where appropriate.
The role is part-time for 3 days per week and funded by Sport England until March 2021. The position is home based with regular travel and a requirement to attend the national office fortnightly. More information can be found in the job description and person specification.

I suspect this may be a generic Sport England target. Some parts will clearly be easier to achieve than others!

Re: England Competitions Officer
Given the number of orienteers I attempt to compete against as an M60 I hardly think they are under represented.

Re: England Competitions Officer
Just to add that this isn't a new role - it's a direct replacement for part of the job previously done by Dan Riley, who left recently. As pete.owens points out, the post is funded by Sport England.

Re: England Competitions Officer
What happened to Dan Riley? He just seems to have vanished - he was a point of contact for the British Championships (supposedly) but didn't really do much.
