Does anybody know anything about this app? http://www.sporteering.com/
I had never heard about it till a friend posted on Facebook offering "open orienteering maps and courses" in Sheffield.

From what I understand, Maprun does something similar:

However, with the ancient phone that I use, neither will concern me!

Re: Sporteering
It was given a slot at a BOF Annual club meeting in Leeds in 2017, the year Mike H retired. The system worked OK on the test course I set up. There are others available now, if you'd like to test out the system, come to Macclesfield tomorrow where MDOC are putting on a very low key event offering traditional and virtual controls.
One thing I do recall about the Leeds meeting was a comment about the date being chosen after consulation with Scottish clubs so they could attend. Didn't get many takers...
