Just to return to this point. I don't think any of the maps were true ISOM 2017 1:10000 or 1:7500 scale maps. They may have used ISOM 2017 symbols, and had MN lines at 300m, but I don't think any were either drawn at 1:15000 and enlarged, or drawn at 1:10000 using an enlarged symbol set appropriate for ISOM 2017 1:10000 maps. (And enlarged again for 1:7500 on Day 5). I may be wrong, but they appear to be drawn at 1:10000 using the ISOM 2017 1:15000 symbol set.
So it's a bit naughty to simply describe them as "ISOM 2017", particularly for an event where entries are encouraged from overseas and others who haven't run on similar terrain before. This isn't just semantics; someone expecting a true ISOM 2017 1:10 map (with enlarged symbols), but who needs a magnifier for a map with the smaller symbols, would have had a shock on picking up the Silver Howe map on day 1 - it was a long way back to get a magnifier or glasses!
This isn't a comment on the quality of the maps; the cartography on all days was excellent, and the maps perfectly usable - once you knew what had been done, and had appropriate eyesight correction if needed. But please don't describe something as simply "ISOM 2017" at 1:10000 scale, if you really mean "ISOM 2017 1:15000 symbol set, drawn at 1:10000 scale" - they are significantly different!

Re: Lakes 5 Days
Ive just checked the symbols on the Silver How map - and that certainly isn't the case.
The spacing of the hatching for the undergrowth and marshes is very slightly out compared to ISOM - and the knoll symbol is slightly smaller. The differences are imperceptible on the printed map - nowhere near 1:15000 sizes.

Re: Lakes 5 Days
Looks like results for Days 1 & 2 have been sorted on the BO site but no results for Days 3 & 4 and there is something seriously wrong with the results for Day 5!

Re: Lakes 5 Days
….just realised that the results shown for Day 5 are actually the results for the Urban race!

Re: Lakes 5 Days
My only thought on the maps was regarding the nonstandard 'small' control circles on day 5 on the 1:7500 map. These were a definite winner, can we have these for more events in future please !?
When I got home I compared my day 5 map with my map from the level B middle race on Graythwaite East earlier this year - and the former is SO MUCH clearer thanks to its smaller control circles.

Results now sorted for Day 5 and up for Day's 3 & 4 but no ranking points for Day 2?
