Hot on the heels of the announcement of a new CEO at BOF the Scottish Orienteering Association is now advertising for a Chief Operating Officer to take over from Stef Lauer. See https://www.scottish-orienteering.org/s ... er-vacancy
Much of this work was previously carried out by the Professional Officer and the Development Officer (paid staff) as well as Board members (volunteers) but with increasing demands (red tape) it was essential to take on a suitable COO.
Knowledge of orienteering or a genuine interest in engaging with/understanding the sport is desirable (I and many others would argue essential). I would hope that the new COO is frequently seen at events and makes themselves known to the orienteering fraternity. I think Mike Hamilton would have benefited hugely had he been more visible and I hope the new COO will take a more proactive position.

Doubt it, Highland Coos have a reputation for not moving very fast, probably due to that long hair dangling over their eyes so they can't work out where they're going
