I see that there is now an embargo for Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for the 2019 JK:
https://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/embargoed_areas
I am regularly there on business as it is a sister laboratory to STFC Daresbury Laboratory which is where I work.
Although living nowhere near I have also controlled on the area for the SCOA Sprint Champs in the past (although I suspect 2013 is far enough in the past not to give any more advantage than people who have run on it at the event(s) on it since).
Who at Major Events and/or BOF should I notify that I will be in the embargoed area (at various locations depending which people I'm meeting) for business purposes.

Re: 2019 Embargoes
There were some guidelines issued in 2008 which cover what constitutes a breach of the embargo.

Controlling on the area isn't an issue if it was more than 24 months ago. Working on the area might be an issue depending on how well you know it. I don't think these guidelines were written with sprint events in mind.

I'd offer to plan/control the TempO, but I've decided I've done enough planning/controlling of major TrailO events for a while.

Have you tried the BO website? (<About> <Governance - Steering groups> ...)

Nope - I'd searched around and couldn't see anything appropriate. I doubt I'd have guessed it was under governance - thanks. TBH I'm not used to the new layout yet, everything seemed easy enough to find before - it'll just take some getting used to I guess.
OK I've checked it - no email addresses except for Dick @ TrailO - and I have that one already.
I'll email BO

I think you're right: they refer to "Competing in a cross country race on an area" but sprint areas often host other types of races, in this case the RARE 10k and possibly the Harwell Half Marathon (depending on the precise route). As these follow set courses with no navigation, presumably they aren't an issue though.
