Do you think your club help fund our athletes by sponsorship
For the purposes of the poll, if you're in a small club (as defined by Compass Sport Cup rules) - £200 per year, if you're in a large club, £400 per year.

I tried to get £100 or so for club leaflets last year before going into a local school to do some orienteering with 150 kids and our club couldn't afford that. So I'd be surprised if the committee let £200 out of the biscuit tin for one elite athlete.
Orienteering - its no walk in the park

if it put on some events the club might raise some funds... to be able to afford leaflets AND supporting the elite.

To add some facts:
CLYDE does already support our elite junior athletes
I'm just back from one of the club's evening races

Re: Do you think your club help fund our athletes by sponsor
I find the question poorly worded.
It could be one of 3 or more questions.
Do you think your club could help fund
Do you think your club would help fund
Do you think your club should help fund
Clubs with reserves that they sit on "in case there is a bad run of events, pestilence and bad weather causing a run of cancellations causing losses" clearly CAN afford it.
Clubs with the money may not have the will to help, so will not. There is a disappointing view that I've heard more than a few times which grumbles about everything being focussed on the elites. (Not my view!)
Should clubs be obliged to help? I think the minute you oblige people to do something is when heels will be dug in.
I think the question beig asked is more the "would" one and I like the idea of elites being used to inspire/train club juniors.

Ah yes, I noticed the mistake in my question. Sorry.
I meant to say "should" between club and help.
Unfortunately I can't edit it.
I do imagine a voluntary scheme that clubs choose to sign up to if they want.

And just to be clear I wasn't necessarily complaining about the club - more countering the assumption that all clubs have big balances. Some small clubs have very little funds in the bank.

And some clubs have a LOT of elite athletes!
