Is the fence/wall that I'm forbidden to cross going to be overprinted on the map?
I'd like to imagine that the reason I haven't been told this is that I can take it as read that the boundary in question will be overprinted, but more often that not I pick up my map on the start line only to find that it isn't. I genuinely don't understand how we manage to get something so basic so totally wrong so often.
The rules are utterly unambiguous:
3.1.20 A boundary which is forbidden for competitors to cross and which affects the courses must be marked as “forbidden to cross” on the competition map. This indicated by overprinting the mapped feature with a solid purple line, except on Sprint/Urban maps where solid overprinted lines are only used where a boundary has changed from being passable to impassable and the map does not show this.
No confusion. No ambiguity. Just do it.
