Comments on new BOF website?
My first one is although the top level images are excellent, I dislike pages that auto-load extra images for me sucking away my data allocation.
I can't comment on the other bits as I haven't found them yet

I might be being a bit thick, but I couldn't find the event lists?

Indeed if you log in you can see more stuff, including events list. But the events list page https://www.britishorienteering.org.uk/ ... p?pg=event is also visible even if you aren't logged in, but doesn't seem to be linked anywhere in the navigation bar which seems an oversight.

Re: New BOF Website
Not sure if this is related, but I went to http://www.theboc.org.uk to find out start times, final details, etc. and it seems to be broken. Clicking any of the links down the left hand navigation bar just gives the same BOC Home & News page. So for example there is no way to access the final details that I can see. (Start times you can click the link in the recent website updates which takes you to Fabian so that is fine)
[Edit: I should add that I've emailed info@bof directly about this too - and would encourage others to do likewise if they have comments on the new website - I only posting here in case anyone knew of something I'm missing]

Re: New BOF Website
I'm clicking on News items (WTOC team announced) and it displayes nothing different - I'm using Firefox, hopefully that isn't the issue.
BTW I notice that on the front page non-members can now go directly to Results. In my opinion there is no need to display our years of birth there - this is personal information and although it can be gleaned from snooping for when people change class, it isn't immediately available. I think showing age class would be a better option for people who aren't logged in.

The event listings on my club's website (Saxons) is erroring, looks like it's because it's fed from BO. Presumably this will be the case for other Paul Frost built websites?
Hopefully this is just teething problems and will be resolved soon.

I've just tried to amend an event location and the site returns a "how embarrassing" error. The Route legacy continues.

Re: New BOF Website
Just clicked on the new website's top news item "New Website!"
The New British Orienteering Website is Now Live!
As many of you will have noticed, the new quicker, cleaner and easier to navigate website is now live.
The new website will take some time to become fully operational, some pages may not work properly (or at all) and links to other pages of the website or other websites may not work initially.
Our website developers are working on populating the website which may take several hours, if you notice certain parts of the site that are not working correctly, please try again in a few hours, if there is still a problem, please let us know by contacting info@britishorienteering.org.uk

Arghh - I hate webpages that flash images across my eyes.
Brings on migraine, don't know how epileptics manage?
Really bad idea

And it seems illogical that you have to login to find a future event, but not to look at results of past events?

"You will be able to find an orienteering event suitable for you by searching the Find an event page."
Any newcomer looking for this page is going to have a problem.
This should be on the top bar, not a results tab.

I just tried to add an activity and got:

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
