My account - my details - edit details. Passwords (one for each family member) are then somewhere inbetween all the other details.

Re: New BOF Website
Find you local club link, hidden in the Help! text, ah where has the map gone, trying to find my local club...what does dfok, gmoa, nwo etc mean????
Off to the results page year of birth shown against individual people, think BO may have a data protection issue there and a nice bit of data for triangulation of data for the scammers/phishers/identity theft. Suggest BO remove that asap before they find themselves in court !!
Final one for tonight, find an event page, what do all the icons mean?? We like a legend pity BO doesn't.

Re: New BOF Website
I think the new site is crap (where are the rules, the resources and the rankings?) and reveals just how removed BO is from the needs of the sport and the expectations of members, but the year of birth has been in the results for years - not sure why that's suddenly an issue?

Re: New BOF Website
I just don't understand what the problem with the old website was. This must have cost money, at a time when apparently funds are scarce. Did anyone sit down and do a cost benefit analysis?

Just about everything from the old site is there and quite a few more statistical things besides. You've just got to explore a bit

As a positive, all my results back to 2009 are available, all 8 pages worth. I've got 5 red stars for some of them and they've also been kind enough to blank out the dsqs,

The official athletics website, Power of 10, also includes similar information (albeit in a less obvious way) in its ranking lists, which I don't think it used to; athlete pages often have date of birth but that's up to the individual. As the age category for athletics changes on your birthday rather than 1st January you can often work out date of birth quite accurately from a change in age category.

Re: New BOF Website
I find the point about the personal results display is interesting. I'm assuming this is a good new feature of the website? I think BOF have missed a trick here in not publicising the new features in the news items on the website. I would have thought this is the BO marketing managers job, unless the news feed isn't working properly either? I will suggest this by email.

Re: New BOF Website
Perhaps coincidence, but the ranking list now seems to be ignoring any results since late march- including the JK.

Re: New BOF Website
One aspect of web design is the use of prime "real estate" on the page.
If I go to the main page I can see some buttons at the top and a whopping big picture, if I pause for a few moments it leaps to another picture. There is no need to subject the user to such large (albeit excellent) pictures.
But wait ... there is more. I've realised I can scroll down and get more interesting stuff - this is poor, you want interesting stuff where it can be seen.
Oh hang on ... maybe not so good when I see what is written :
"Who is it for?"
...
"If you are interested in TrailO the disability form of orienteering, please click here."
No it isn't!
TrailO is not "the disability form of orienteering" - it is an Open sport accessible to all (well almost all, its current form isn't that accessible to blind people).
