Sadly, all applications so far are applying to travel abroad to work on their technical skills.
I can understand athletes seeking big races abroad where small technical mistakes will result in relatively big position losses.
But I don't understand why folk aren't sorting out quality technical camps in the UK also. OR maybe they are and I just don't know......
Anyway - one suggestion from me. the UKEL events around Aberfoyle - 1st weekend in April...... Aberfoyle Memorial Hall has toilets and showers and allows overnight stays and full hire of the hall for a reasonable charge - why not organize for athletes to stay here over the weekend and continue their technical training by staying for a further week and training in the surrounding forests? (There are numerous other halls within 10 mins drive also).
The Trossachs, South Achray and Fairy Knowe & Doon Hill are all very close and group training for under 20 people requires no FC permission (you'd be wise to register your training activity with BO for insurance purposes and seek permission from the local clubs for use of the map). I'm pretty sure you could have a fab training camp in this area for less that £100 for the week (excluding travel).
I'd like to think somebody has already had this thought....
