I'm bored with this tech-chit-chat!
Ravinous and I have just had a little chat on the CompassSport Facebook page about the fact that next year is the actual 50th JK - as opposed to this year being the 50th anniversary of the first JK because there wasn't one during F&M year.
There is no mention of this milestone on the JK webpage and the merchandise is disappointingly generic and confined to technical T shirts and hoodies - no Commemorative O shirts!
Rav says this is because BOF cocked up last year's dates (you know lets party like its 1999 instead of 2000 ) Personally I see no reason why not to do both and I'm sure attending the 50th JK is an attraction in itself and no marketing person worth their salt should miss the chance to take two bites of the cherry.
What do other people think. An opportunity missed or something best not mentioned?

To be fair, it has not been missed yet!

Or to appropriate an illicit response?

Re: 50th JK?
If the first JK was in 1967, then next year is both the 50th anniversary and 50th JK?

Wow! So what was this year then? This must be even worse than I thought! (goes rummaging around for commemorative O Top)

Re: 50th JK?
According to the strigiformian oracle there have been 49 JKs since 1967. So this year was the 100th anniversary and the 100th JK.

Re: 50th JK?
I can't help adding for completeness that in 1971 the JK training event was on Ranmore Common, and the CH 'run down' event on Lower Bourne. In 1979, the 'relaxation' event was on Quantock Forest South.
