VHI
Anyone know the results of last weeks International? The only references I've found is a mention of the location from a June news item on the SOA site and the individual (pdf)results on the Lagan Valley http://lvo.org.uk/ site. But no relays.

Re: VHI
As a foreigner (though having lived in England for 15+ years) I must admit I find the whole VHI/SHI/JHI malarkey quite amusing.
From the outside it looks like every year a huge amount of effort goes into fielding full teams (with many dropouts) and the organisation is often a bit last minute and "low key". But putting a lot of strain onto the smaller nations particularly.
Do people really care sufficiently for it all to continue?
(I look forward to my official deportation letter arriving in the post shortly).

It depends.
The juniors seem to. Most of the Vets do. However it's more mixed as far as the Seniors (M/W21) go. The Scots are always up for any chance to get one over on the English, but a lot of the English don't seem to care less. I always think this is a shame.
The Irish and the Welsh are also usually quite competitive amongst themselves.

Prove it!
Seriously though, it would be nice to see some results. I'm guessing that they had some sort of problem but why not just say so?
I was a bit puzzled by the comment on the LVO site with the link to the individual results:
Once I work out how to present them in a more ‘fancy’ way I will … but not tonight, I need to dry out first!
They look like AutoDownload printed results saved as a PDF, and AutoDownload will create nice/fancy looking HTML pages with a couple of clicks.

I am a foreigner living in Scotland and I had the official "Scotland appreciates you and you are welcome" post Brexit letter from my MP. And he isn't even 'my' MP as I can't vote at the UK level, just the local and Scottish elections. Feel free to join us here

I agree, the more stepping stones and representational opportunities the better for kids at every level.
Any reason why Junior, Senior and Vets are held separately? Do the juniors prefer the focus to be on them for the weekend?
To oblivion and beyond....

Re: VHI
BOF Event Scheduling Group spends a lot of their committee time discussing Home Internationals, hosts and combination of events.
Often the challenge for organisers is the non-orienteering aspects such as accommodation for competitors and providing a central area for eating/socialising.
For the Welsh they have to host a Home International three out of every four years and anything that could reduce this burden when there are only four active clubs in Wales would be welcomed.

Some progress of sorts. The individual results have moved to the OneDrive, except my computer(s) can't see them. However, RG is available, providing you know who ran for which country. The relay map is also on RG, but only for the public courses.

Re: VHI
As it will be my club, BASOC, hosting the 2017 VHI's I'm keen to find out what I need to know and what is expected of us as a club.
This includes what went wrong this year, so I can try and prevent it happening again.
Are these the latest definitive rules and guidelines (dated July 2014)?
Is there a spreadsheet template or any other automated script that does the team result calculations?
