I'm looking for a simple method/system/algorithm/calculation for a league. Ideally it needs to be usable by a number of people who may not be Maths/Excel geniuses.
We had a night league between 3 clubs last winter and want to make the scoring easier next time. Our problem is that 2 clubs use SPORTident and the other uses Emit, or I would just use the league calculation feature in AutoDownload. We are open to changing the scoring formula if that makes the calculations easier. The only common factor would be the ability to generate a CSV in the standard format used in Winsplits, BOF, RouteGadget etc.
We have 3 courses, scores on each course were awarded for position as such:
1st 50
2nd 47
3rd 44
4th 42
5th 40
.......and so on
Mispunches or DNFs - 1 point
The planner of the event gets whatever their best result was.
The BEST 4 of 6 scores to count.

Re: League scoring calculations
I wrote this exact thing a few years ago and it was used for EUOC's FWTN series fairly successfully for 3 years: http://o-results.net/
It takes an upload of CSV/Excel in virtually any sensible format, some of their events didn't use e-timing so it needed to take a manual input file.
It's not very polished though, especially the runner matching algorithm (which was the bug I didn't have time to fix last year that meant it wasn't used for the 15/16 series) but if you can wait until September/October I could invest some time to fix then.

Re: League scoring calculations
That looks like it would be perfect. Our night league is Dec & Jan, so your timescale should be OK.
