Uh oh. Have just noticed in the final details that all fences are to be treated as uncrossable and only crossed at crossing points but that in the interest of clarity the map basically says the opposite. Hmmmm. Hope everyone has paid attention.

Enjoyed today despite the rain and being rusty. Well planned and done in a way that the market crossings were mainly the logical ones anyway. No excuse for not knowing about the fence thing unless you could not read (final details and map) or were dead to the person on the start who highlighted it. Thanks to John E as planned and the rest of the DEE team.

I totally enjoyed todays event arround Liverpool. It was a truly Magical Mystery Tour of the city.

We don't go to Liverpool much and today was a good way to see new bits. Course 2 was good. I think bending the line on a long leg to tell you which way to enter a closed courtyard was not right but thats the only negative.
It's the first time I've been to 2 cathedrals in a day.
Thanks to Seloc team for this part of a good weekend.

Great event at Ainsdale on Saturday. Really good planning making excellent use of the area (Short Brown). The junior courses were a little too technical for most, but otherwise superb.
To oblivion and beyond....

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend - Sand & City, 3-4 September
It was an enjoyable and very worthwhile weekend. You guys always make us Scots feel very welcome.
Highlight for me was the Liverpool City race.Felt I got a good feel for the City - sooo glad the weather improved from the Saturday. Agree with DM comment about bending the line. Kind of misses the point of urban if you do that. I lost 30s or so just east of 12 where there's a definite gap between a building and some OOB but this was barred by an 8ft wide U/C fence. FWIW the dock area looked really nice - I'd have happily sacrificed the loop 12-15 for few more controls in the docks at the end.
The Ainsdale Dunes race was tough underfoot and weatherwise. Much less runnable than I expected it to be and tweaked a calf early on so my blue course felt extra long. Really liked the forested parts.
Contrary to DM on blue on legs 2 and 12 the planner appeared to have planned routes to almost tempt runners to cross the fence, with two equidistant crossing points ( a brave move considering the risk for future area use) but to be fair I only saw one person crossing a fence they shouldnt have and that was actually at a crossing point - but they were crossing the incorrect fence!
We had a minor incident where my M12 disturbed a wasps nest near a control and had to DNF but the guys at the download got him sorted nicely thanks. White course looked textbook.

Re: Liverpool Big Weekend - Sand & City, 3-4 September
I was sorry and concerned to hear at the finish of the wasp sting to andypat junior.
He must have been unlucky as no-one else reported similar whilst I was at the finish.
I did not encounter any when putting controls out.
(At a previous event I planned I planted one stake straight in a nest. I moved the control a little and had everyone informed in the start lanes. Had I encountered wasps on Saturday I would have done the same again).

No fault on your part at all re wasps - dealt with very well by the team by all accounts. Sounds like he put his foot on a subterrainean wasp nest and got chased. Was in the circle but not near the flag - you couldn't have foreseen that unless you'd stuck a foot in it yourself!
