Those of you that remember Mike Jubb (ShUOC 87-91), will know that he's a bloody fast runner, who could never quite get the navigation right (except the famous occasion he nearly won the British Champs on Clumber, but that's another story).
Anyway, yesterday Jubby finished 2nd in the British Elite Duathlon Champs, only 16 seconds behind the winner!
His splits included a 10km in 32:32, followed by a 5km in 15:32. Respect.

Personally don't know the guy, but well done to him. Those times are particularly impressive even if done individually - and a proper sprint finish meant he got 2nd place by 1 second.
The reward of a thing well done is to have done it.

nice one Jubby,
i did the Edinburgh Duathlon the other week, came in a lowly 30th!! but suffered on the bike as it was just a tad too small, and then once off the bike my legs thought it would be real funny to cramp up in a serious manner, hurt like hell and had to stop and stretch.
and Mharky, can't believe you are heading for Itailien shores, what is it, the women?!?
have a good one, and see you at some point no doubt.
