Re: European Champs
You can always trust the Czechs to come up with some juicy contour-heavy route choices. Although 70' winning time for a Men's Long Q seems hardcore even by their standards. I wonder what the final will look like?

10/10 through to the A finals - great stuff team GBR.
As to what they have let themselves in for, at least the men: today's winning times 70 mins for 10.3/440, tomorrow is 16.1/650. So half as much again. Good job Wednesday is a rest day.

Nice to see some well written reports with photographs appearing on the British Orienteering web site.

I agree. Not just this event either; I thought there was a good report on the British for example. I don't imagine it's easy, but it builds.

Re: European Champs
On the subject of media, also I have enjoyed wasting time looking at the startlists "with facts about runners from worldofo".
Verging on the trivial, year of birth is present for 102 of today's A finalists.
Four athletes were born in the 1970's.
The youngest is Nicolas Rio of France, who was 21 last month.
The most represented year is 1990, with ten of the men and seven of the women.
As regards the likely results...
The 5 top ranked men are Daniel Hubmann, Matthias Kyburz, Magne Dæhli, Carl Godager Kaas and William Lind.
The 5 top ranked women are Tove Alexandersson, Cat Taylor, Anne Margrethe Hausken Nordberg,
Merja Rantanen and Emma Johansson (SWE - there are two Emma's and they have the same surname). The last three starters look medal contenders too.

No, next live stream is from the Middle Final. To be honest, making an interesting live TV broadcast out of a Long Final is tricky, isn't it.
