Surely it doesn't matter if M/WxxL and M/WxxS classes "share" the same Middle distance course on Day 2, and run separate Classic distance courses on Day 3.
I would expect an option when I enter to choose which Class I want to compete in, and it's up to the organising team to decide if they mix up the results for Day 2 Middle or just have two separate Classes but run them over the same course.
It should be easy enough to extract the results into the relevant classes for combining times over the two days.
Where's the complication?

The complication is that there are several possible ways of dealing with short course, and nobody has said what is proposed. Frankly, I find it impossible to believe this claim that a majority want to change to our most popular annual event, when 30% of JK competitors haven't even been told what the change is. It's just a vociferous minority making stuff up.

I wrote to Scott Parker at BO on 11 April to ask if they were going to circulate the questionnaire to all competitors at the JK, rather than just put the information on the website.
I got this reply on 15 April:
Thank you for your email. I have passed your email onto Mike Hamilton who created and published the survey. Mike is on annual leave currently and will answer your query when he returns.
Kindest Regards

Since when I have heard nothing. They really need to try harder get the opinions of the members who actually go to the event, before they can form a policy

I sent a reminder, and promptly had this reply:
Hi Karen,
Apologies, Scott is currently away on annual leave and won’t be back in the office until next Monday. As such, I have forwarded your email on to Mike and he should be back in touch as soon as he is able.
Kindest Regards

Seems there a lot of admin assistants with no answers.

At the S6D last year the courses and classes were kept the same for the middle distance day (Day 3) as for the other days. The middle distance course ratios were adjusted that day:
"... because the recommended winning times for the 'standard' events ranges from 30mins for M/W14 and 40mins for the oldest age goups to 60mins for elite courses whereas the winning time for the middle distance race is 30mins for all the technical classes."
