Have just checked the opening times for the public showers near the tourist centre in Kyle. It's 8am until 9pm Sat and Sun

There are quite a few people who are delighted just to have finished! That was tough!
Thanks Tess and SEDS for a great weekend.
Results are now published and overall results, winsplits and routgadget may follow this evening when I get home.

Re: New area for Purple Thistle 2016
Thanks for a great weekend although I need to do A LOT more bog and tussock running and pay more attention to my compass. Todays' beat me but I still enjoyed the bits I did just got frustrated at how slow my progress was. I think if I'm going to try and do 3 events in a weekend I need to do the small thistle.
I need to spend more time ploughing through Devilla rather than the paths in the park over the road.
I felt a bit sorry for whoever had to clean the wet, muddy, grassy floor in the toilets.

One of the toughest events ever held in Scotland - as Controller I was aware of this but it was what was intended. Amazing how fast Ali (selected for WOC) managed to run around the area. Well done to Tess and SEDS helpers for staging such a memorable event.

That was great. I made so many mistakes...
When I finally got to a path at the very end of the course on Sunday I was surprised how much running legs I had left - it was mainly my leg-lifting-stepping-over-tussocks part that was exhausted.

and now that RouteGadget is available, you can show us where you went.
I was out so long that my watch ran out of battery so I am not sure exactly where I went

Now that was a proper o weekend. You couldn't ask for more (certainly not on the courses ). Perfect conditions for a weekend in the hills and a good supply of raspberries and blaeberries, a real boost out on the course on Sunday. Thanks to all for a grand couple of days.
