Re: Scottish Spring 2016 (22nd-24th April)
All the venues seem really well suited to their disciplines, with a Hagaby style Night O at Dunalastair sure to be a long night for some folk, it's technical enough and rough enough in the daytime
Faskally is great fun at speed, and Bonskeid was brilliant last year for the SOL and should leave folk buzzing, it's lovely to run in.
Sadly I'm not sure I can make much (if any) of the weekend

Crikey Graeme that's a bit tetchy. Perhaps you actually meant to say "Thanks PL, yes we gave that aspect a great deal of attention, glad you noticed"

Don't fancy driving to Scotland? Read on ...
The Dark Thistle has moved to Craig a Barns.
It means you can access all the assembly areas, and stay at the excellent Faskally caravan site (bar and restaurant), without ever needing the car.
e.g. even if you're unfortunate enough to live in London, take an afternoon off, get the 1pm train from Kings Cross on Friday to Birnham station and a 3pm train back from Pitlochry on Sunday. Or stay another day and bag Ben Vrackie or Bhein a'Ghlo. Both stations are within walking distance of assembly.

Entries close this weekend. Faskally is lovely now the rhodos are all cleared out, Bonskeid was always lovely, Craig a' Barns, the permanent choice for a Scottish JK, is a truely classic area in the daytime and an epic at night. Accommodation available at Sat/Sun assembly, all doable on the train. What are you waiting for?

Porky's Preview
I just got aa message from the organiser
"Also 8 pigs are in the hall well fed and ready to fly ..."
It can only mean the chasing sprint is back. With a field somewhat stronger than BOC, the open races should be a treat.
In the race to be top hog, our collection of streaky-fast sprint stars Strain, McLeod, Jones, and Hodkinson , or will previous junior piglet winners Jonny Crickmore or Sasha Chepelin come streaking through get their snouts back in the trough. A sounder bet is that event coordinator gg wins the battle of the equine with the porcine.
For the supersow title, former winners retiring Claire Ward and HOC's returning Tess Strain are our top Trotters and could have their names O-inked onto the trophy again, but it would be a rasher man than I who predicted they could bring home the bacon against a drove of junior ladies: if you get my drift.
Veteran preview may follow if I sober up... There's still EoD: chop chop!

JOK Members going to WMOC in Tallinn this summer should arrange their club dinner here:

(It's actually well worth a visit & not over the top price wise).
