Does anyone know where I can borrow one or preferably two National GBR flags from asap? I can collect reasonable distance or bof office.
I am attending the Egypt international championships and they asked if I can bring them.
Any help appreciated,
Thanks.

Re: GBR Flags
Technically, if i am carrying a British flag, have GBR after my name, then I am representing Britain!

Re: GBR Flags
Debatable, but I'll rephrase anyway; you are not representing British Orienteering.

Just make sure if you use a Union Flag to fly the correct way up.

Seconded
Also as Charles notes it is a Union Flag - it isn't a Jack unless it is on board a ship.
Ironically they got 2 flags wrong at the WTOC prize giving in Italy - Croatia and Norway, but they got GBR correct - good job there was a flag geek in the room

Lots of people quote that but I believe that there is very little historical support for it.
Much like many orienteering "rules" that planners/organisers quote at me when as controller I query why they are doing something. A good one that I heard last weekend was that the finish punch stake shouldn't have a flag on it because it's not on a feature.

Why not if he's a member then he is representing British Orienteering as a member of that organisation whatever level he's competing. This just sounds like elitist jobby which we don't need in this organisation. I am more than happy for you to represent my (our) organisation.
If I had a flag you would be more than welcome to it.
Is not all he seems

I heard there had been some recent dispute, but that's what we were taught at school (which is what you get if you to the "blue" school in South Lanarkshire). Then again we were taught at school that a panda was a racoon not a panda.

4 mins apart from people from same club is another one that used to be bandied about, but I don't believe it is in the current rules and have been told it never has been.

Re: GBR Flags
Now seen the full results from the inaugural Egyptian International Championships. I was pleased to see noomember distinguished himself, as representative of GBR or British Orienteering or whatever, by winning M45.
I enjoyed watching the videos of Day 1 (Kings Island) and Day 3 (Karnak temple), having stayed on the hotel on the island a couple of times, and visited the temple several times. It must have felt like a real privilege to be allowed to run there. Very amusing to see the tourists in the video!
