I was really pleased with the accuracy of my navigation in the mist and rain at Llangynidr on Thursday so imagine my upset when on the way to control 9 (course 3) I discovered my SI Card had slipped off my finger. One slightly despondent orienteer.
Now imagine the complete contrast today when I went to enquiries to hire a SI Card only to discover my SI Card had been found and returned. It had even been downloaded so the times for the first eight controls were now available. One very happy orienteer.
I don't know who found my SI Card or if they read this forum but I would like to place on record my very grateful thanks to who ever it was.

Always worth attaching it (via a thin shoe lace) to a wrist strap.

The 6 days are more generous with kids' prizes and certificates and cloth badges, even I've "won" a cloth badge. My pot hunting nephew was disappointed no kids' course B 2nd prize although it sounds as though he had a great time over the week.

Re: Croeso 2016
Thanks to all organising teams for another excellent Croeso. 5 really good and varied areas,
sadly the weather didn't smile on us but that only added to the challenge, especially on the mountain stage . i thought the arrangements worked well,(in spite of me being at the bottom of the hill day 3) especially the busing day 4, really must get back there when i can see where i am going

Yes, this is the first thing I did before heading off to the far start on day 5

A Welsh League event was held on the area used for JK2014 last September on a clear and dry day. One of the challenges then was balancing the possible speed against losing contact with the map, but bearings of over 500m was a complete contrast to Croeso Day 4.

Re: Croeso 2016
A number of competitors have enquired about the lack of results on the BOF website and the consequent absence of rankings points. This is a perennial problem with multiday events where no individual club "owns" the results meaning there is no BOF-designated uploads person.
We are currently looking for a solution and hope to resolve the problem shortly.

Why haven't you got any points for Days 3-5?

A glitch in the results upload it seems. They will be uploaded again this evening.

Re: Croeso 2016
It seems that the glitch is worse than at first thought and the full results are still not loaded, i.e. quite a few names are still missing from the lists.
This is turning into a major saga ...

Re: Croeso 2016
A very belated post because it took quite a while for my nopesport account to be activated...
Anyway, a big `thank you' to everyone involved with Croeso this year. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the 2 days at Kenfig. Plus the atmosphere around the events was great.
