These took place at the weekend at Sandringham, Norfolk.
Many congratulations to Cockermouth School who won a very close competition in the large school category. Only 2 points separated the top 3 schools -
Cockermouth School - 26
Ulverston Victoria HS - 27
Torquay Boys GS - 28
The closest competition in 25 years.
A just reward for RJ & Margaret for all their hard work with WCOC primaries over many years.

Re: British Schools Champs
It was also good to see 2 Leicestershire schools winning British School Championships. Leicester Grammar School the Primary and Loughborough Grammar School the Small Secondary. This is in addition to other LEI juniors taking some of the Individual Podium places and good recent performances by LEI juniors in national orienteering competitions.

Full results, including RouteGadget, available at: http://www.cix.co.uk/~neper/bsoc15/
Would be interesting (to me and others I suspect) to see what routes competitors took, in particular on the longer courses, so please encourage any youngsters that you know that took part to put their routes on RouteGadget.
Thanks

I like the scattered Rhody symbol. I've run on maps with similar things before, works really well in my opinion.

I think that is likely to be an official symbol in the next version of ISOM - but with a diagonal grid.

Good news, but the dotted symbol does seem appropriate, given that the bl***y stuff is often circular(ish) in shape.

Re: British Schools Champs
Schools from Sheffield did really well. Most went down by coach which SYO co-ordinated. There was also a minibus full of kids and three separate carloads - there wasn't enough room on the coach! There were 50 children from Sheffield altogether.
Nine schools from Sheffield were represented, mainly Junior Schools but also Tapton, High Storrs and King Ecgbert's which are secondaries.
Sheffield Schools came 3rd, 4th and 5th in the over all Primary competition ( Nether Green, Hunters Bar and Westways).
And we had champions in Y5 girls (Imogen Pieters from Sheffield High Junior School) and in Y6 boys (Euan Tryner from Hunters Bar).
In the Year Group competition Nether Green came 1st in the Y5 category, Sheffield High Junior came 2nd and Hunters Bar 5th.
In Y5 Boys Nether Green came 4th.
In Y6 Girls Westways came 4th
In Y6 Boys Hunters Bar came 3rd
In Girls Y8 High Storrs came 4th
This builds on the successful Schools League and coaching over the last two years.
