Bethecar moor
It was wet, it was misty but it was great. Thanks to LOC and Carol for a good course today. I liked the long legs on Short brown, very few other people that I could see anyway.

A big thank you to all the volunteers today - those with outdoor jobs must have got drenched. At least it was mild for the time of year. Enjoyed our courses - quite invigorating really - less so the drive home on flooded roads.

Here are some photos from a slightly soggy Simpson's Ground and a very soggy Bethecar Moor:

A big thank you to all the officials and helpers over the weekend, especially in very difficult conditions on Sunday. Good challenging courses, as expected from Derek and Carol.

At least you know who the planners were! The event I went to yesterday failed to identify any of planner, controller or organiser - on any of club website, final details or (so far) results. Perhaps it was all done by committee

LOC Middle - Blue 3.7km, leading M16 33.38, M55 34.57
LOC Long - Blue 5.3km, leading M16 43.09, M55 45.09
Only 10 mins. different - suggests the Long isn't long enough, which seems to be a common problem in events these days.

Re: Bethecar moor
It did mention in the final details that the courses were planned on the shorter end of the guideline range so it seems it was intentional - though I think it would have been better to publish recommended courses one colour shorter. It would still have been the same courses - just M21 running Brown and so on.
Incidentally:
LOC Middle - Short Green 2.1km, leading W55 22.25
Perhaps suggests that the recommended course for W55s should be Green.

Yes please! I've never understood why W55s (and indeed W60s) are supposed to run Short Green at Middle Distance events. I'd much prefer to run Green.
